Just in case you didn’t know, Noisy Librarians think that librarians from all sectors are special. We are professional, highly trained specialists who shouldn’t be replaced by volunteers. You have perhaps already been affected by public spending cuts through the years, and particularly in recent months, and have something to say about it with specific reference to librarians in schools, charities, health, universities, colleges, business and legal services.
The STUC There is a Better Way campaign offers a chance for all of those concerned about the threat to our public services to demonstrate our opposition to government cuts. The march and rally on Saturday 23rd October offers you a chance to shout out loud about your opposition to cuts in general, and also a chance to meet up informally with fellow librarians.
If you are a librarian in Scotland, and wish to attend / meet up before the march and rally, email firstname.lastname@example.org for details. If you are in Glasgow, why not come along to our banner-making session on Thursday 21st October at 5pm. We will be at the Unison Glasgow Branch.
